The information packet includes the Student Training Program Handbook and an application form for the program, as well as general information about Michael Fields Agricultural Institute.

Application

We are now accepting applications for 2007 internships. To apply, or simply to find out more about the program, please refer to our program handbook and application form [pdf 1.5Mb] or contact us to receive a copy by mail. You can also get a feel for what it's like to be a part of the Garden Student Program by browsing our photo gallery.

Early applications deadline is November 1st. However, applications are accepted throughout the year and are processed the 1st of each month, until all student placements are filled.

Phone interview

Once we receive your completed application, personal essay and résumé, we will send you a letter confirming that your application has been received. At that time, we will contact you to set up an appointment for a phone interview. You will be interviewed over the phone by Janet Gamble, the Garden Student Program Director.

Acceptance into the program

If you are accepted into the Program, we will send you an acceptance letter and a letter of commitment. The mailing will include information on arrival dates, student orientation, items to bring to the Institute and directions.

Janet Gamble makes all decisions regarding acceptance to the Garden Student Program. No one is accepted to the program until financial arrangements are finalized.

Orientation

All students are required to attend the Orientation Program at Michael Fields Agricultural Institute held in April.
